Summary

  • Former President Trump's private Boeing 757, "Trump Force One," features luxurious interiors with cream leather seats and 24-karat gold fixings.
  • The aircraft underwent a major restoration in 2022 after being grounded and stored at Stewart International Airport mid-2019.
  • The aircraft's movements often attract public interest and media coverage, especially those related to Trump's appearances in court.

Former US President Donald Trump is far from alone in owning a private jet. But it is more obvious than many - with its prominent "Trump" branding. It also regularly attracts headlines whenever it flies. We take a quick look at where what this Boeing 757 aircraft has been up to over the past months.

Trump Force One - N757AF

Trump has owned his private Boeing 757 since 2010 (it was acquired from Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen). The aircraft has been flying since 1991, initially entering service with former Copenhagen-based low-cost airline Sterling Airways.

The aircraft currently carries the registration N757AF. It took on its "Trump Force One" branding during Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. It is a lavishly appointed VIP aircraft with cream leather seats, 24-karat gold fixings, and two bedrooms.

Major restoration in 2022

The Boeing 757 has not been seen much in recent years. After Trump became president in January 2017, he flew instead onboard the US Air Force-operated "Air Force One" (the aircraft associated with the name). Trump was also quite involved in the new replacement VC-25B aircraft - including proposing a new red, white, and blue livery that the Biden administration has subsequently scrapped.

"Trump Force One" went out of service during the presidency. The plane was then grounded and stored at Stewart International Airport in mid-2019. At 32 years old, it required maintenance, and limited use was expected as Trump's time in office continued. Besides Air Force One, Trump also used a second smaller aircraft - a Cessna 750 Citation X.

After over three years in storage, the aircraft returned to service in October 2022. The aircraft had undergone maintenance, had one engine replaced, and received a new paint job from Landlocked Aviation.

Trump Force One's recent movements

Trump's 757, N757AF, is more challenging to track than commercial aircraft. It is not always found in sources such as FlightRadar24.com due to blocking requests. Some services, and Instagram accounts, however, do attempt to track movements.

With significant public interest in Trump and several aircraft movements related to his recent police and court appearances, flights are often reported in mainstream US media. His trip to New York to appear in criminal court in April 2023 was widely covered, as were trips to Miami in June and Washington in August for other court appearances. There have also been many business-related and private flights as Trump or others move around - the aircraft is certainly well in use.
