With rising flight prices and airlines making cutbacks, you'd think that snacks were well and truly a thing of the past. However, some airlines are still doing their best to offer free snacks for all passengers, especially on long-haul economy flights.
1 Virgin Atlantic
Never one to shy away from creating a good customer experience, Virgin Atlantic offers a wide range of snacking options in all classes. Just some of the items on offer are McVities chocolate digestives and Walkers shortbread. For those with a more savory tooth, there are Pipers crisps and the complimentary Indulge corn bites given out upon boarding. For a refreshing treat, you can have a Pip organic ice lolly. A packet of Love Hearts is given out upon landing.
2 Qantas
On long-haul flights with Qantas, you can enjoy the 'movie service' with cheese and crackers or warm toasties for something more substantial. Salsa, chips, pretzels, and fruit are also available to snack on. Hot chocolate with marshmallows and Magnum ice cream is offered on Airbus A380 and Boeing B787 Dreamliner routes. There are also Tim Tams and Byron Bay cookies to enjoy.
3 British Airways
British Airways have partnered up with Judes, a local ice cream company, to provide treats on long-haul flights.
Travelers in economy (World Traveler) or economy plus (World Traveller Plus) can choose from salted caramel, vanilla, strawberries and cream, or chocolate.
4 Delta Air Lines
Long known for its Biscoff cookies and Starbucks coffee and tea, Delta Air Lines also offers decent snacks. You can choose from Sunchips, Kate's Real Food organic snack bars with coconut, and lemon and roasted almonds from Nuts.com.

5 Southwest Airlines
This airline is now known for giving out snacks apart from the obligatory bag of peanuts. They have upped their game, and you can choose from King Nut snack mix and Nabisco Wheat Thins on the savory side. For those after something sweet, there are Sunkist Fruit Bites and Sheila G's Brownie Brittle.
6 United Airlines
On flights with United Airlines, you can rely on their 'undercover snacks.' There are That's It apple and mango fruit bars, Summer Harvest savory snack mix, and dark chocolate sea salt quinoa crisps by Undercover Snacks. These replace the previous offering of pretzels and Biscoff cookies, but the popular Daelmans Stroopwafels are staying onboard.
7 Korean Air
Not an obvious choice, but Korean Air offers boundless snacks onboard. On mid-haul economy flights, you can have a free noodle cup followed by a freshly baked cookie.
On long-haul economy flights, you can take your pick from sandwiches, rice crackers, Jumeok-bap (hot rice balls), noodle cups, muffins, cookies, and bananas. Snacks in first class include seafood soup, noodles in black bean sauce and kimchi, and beef jerky.
8 Hawaiian Airlines
Hawaiian Airlines takes great pride in local products in both its meal and snack range. Although there are limited options in long-haul economy, they are quality products: the La Tour Bakehouse cookie or the Honolulu Cookie Company shortbread. However, they have a more extensive selection of snacks available to buy onboard through their Pau Hana Snack Bar service.
