IDEMIA Identity and Security, a long-term provider of TSA PreCheck enrollment, has announced a new initiative. The new enrollment offering takes place at Denver International Airport (DEN) and is in collaboration with United Airlines. The initiative allows travelers with a United ticket to enroll in TSA PreCheck without the need for a formal appointment.

Partnership with United Airlines

The collaboration agreement is specific to the United Airlines travelers that frequent the Denver Airport. This offer is available for travelers that are departing from or arriving at the Denver Airport but is also available to any passengers that are connecting through the United hub. The enrollment process, which is run by IDEMIA, takes five minutes or less. The enrolled passenger will then typically receive their Known Traveler Number (KTN) within the next three to five days.

The Senior Vice President of Travel and Transport for IDEMIA Identity and Security of North America, Lisa Sullivan, spoke about the new agreement. She stated,

"We are incredibly excited to kick off this pilot with United Airlines. This is the first of its kind. IDEMIA's collaboration with United Airlines continues our joint goal of enrolling more travelers in TSA PreCheck, and it ties convenience and accessibility together for travelers flying in and out of the Denver International Airport."

The TSA PreCheck enrollment process typically costs passengers $78. This cost covers five years of participation for TSA PreCheck travelers. However, travelers through Denver can cover this cost by using United MileagePlus miles. The MileagePlus members can use 11,000 miles to cover the $78 cost of enrolling in TSA PreCheck.

The Vice President of Customer Strategy and Innovation at United Airlines, Jennifer Schwierzke, spoke about the new enrollment agreement. She said,

"As part of United's growth plans, we're focused on making the travel experience better than ever, and we're excited for United customers traveling through Denver International Airport to have this opportunity to enroll in TSA PreCheck. The enrollment process is not only quick and efficient but once enrolled, it ensures that travelers have a more seamless experience navigating the airport."

The new enrollment agreement will be offered to travelers beginning on August 14 and lasting through October 6. Specifically, travelers can visit the TSA PreCheck Ambassadors in Concourse B during the week from 8:00-12:00 and 13:00-17:00 local time.

Other recent United Airlines news

The airline has also been in the news recently for its work assisting with the wildfires in Maui. United recently announced it had assisted in evacuating over 11,000 travelers and residents from the island. The airline is utilizing widebody aircraft to take evacuees back to the United States mainland. Additionally, the airline is flying with additional supplies for the American Red Cross. This includes clean-up kits, shelter supplies, and other supplies. United Airlines has hauled over 81,000 total pounds of aid for the charity.

A United Airlines pilot also made news for assisting with the evacuation directly. The pilot, who was on vacation nearby, volunteered to jump back into a cockpit to help take travelers to the mainland. Vince Eckelkamp offered to fly the plane when the crew stationed on Maui was unable to make it to the airport as the wildfire situation worsened.
