Dubai-based Emirates will fly whopping seven-daily flights from Dubai to London this winter, adding an extra flight five days per week to meet increased demand.

One extra daily winter flight

Yesterday, Emirates announced an increase in its winter operations from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to London Heathrow Airport (LHR). The Gulf carrier already operates six daily flights between the two cities and will add one more daily flight five days per week to meet increased demand in the winter. From October 31 to March 30, 2024, Emirates will send its Boeing 777-300ERs on the extra flight.

The new flights have the following schedule, EK41 will leave Dubai at 13:20, arrive in London at 17:20 on Tuesdays-Saturdays, depart London on the same days at 20:15, and land in Dubai on the following day at 07:15.

Emirates' London network is mind-boggling. The airline has 11 daily flights to three London airports, and the newly-announced extra Heathrow flight will be the 12th. According to data from Cirium, Emirates has 330 flights scheduled from Dubai to London in November, or 660 in both directions. This equates to 315,664 monthly seats between the cities, with Emirates deploying its Airbus A380s and Boeing 777-300ERs on the different routes.

Heathrow is the busiest London route for Emirates, but Gatwick also has two daily A380 flights and one 777-300ER flight, and Stansted has two daily 777-300ER flights. Below is the breakdown of the number of monthly flights and seats, excluding the extra winter flight to Heathrow:

Other airlines' London-Dubai flights

Three airlines fly between London Heathrow and Dubai, in addition to Emirates. British Airways, Royal Brunei Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic (commences October). The three carriers have 240 flights (in both directions) scheduled between LHR-DXB in November, offering an additional 79,127 seats. British Airways sends various aircraft down to Dubai, including its Airbus A380s and all three variants of its Boeing 787 Dreamliners, the 787-8, -9, and -10.

Emirates' UK network

Emirates' operations in the UK are not limited to London. The airline recently resumed its flights to Birmingham and Glasgow, sending the A380s to both cities. Emirates flies three times daily to Manchester with the A380, Birmingham twice daily with one flight on the A380, once daily to Glasgow, and once daily to Newcastle.
